Moving To The Front Court

After split step, there are 2 ways to move to the front of the court:

  1. Offensively - this is when you are already in a attacking position, and you aim is to take the shuttle as high as possible to stay in the attacking position.
  2. Defensively - when your aim is to just survive and you end up taking the shuttle low

Always let your racket direct your movement, and make a lunge once at the corner. Take a small recovery step, and then go back to your base.

  • Make sure your foot is also in the direction of the corner, otherwise it can lead to injuries
  • If possible always distribute your weight to both legs so you can recover quicker
  • The recovery step should be short and help you recover, as the name suggests
  • Follow your racket, think of a dog which is gone rogue and is pulling you
  • Always engage core to stay in balance
