The Base Grip

The base grip should be held most of the time during a match. It is easy to manoeuvre into other grips from this grip. Overall this is the most used grip in badminton, and key take aways from the video are:

  • Make sure you are softly holding your racket when in rest and before hitting. Hand should be relaxed
  • There should be a V created with your fingers
  • The V should be formed on the curved side of the grip
  • Hold the racket in the middle or slightly down (your own preference)
  • Use your fingers when manoeuvring
